Hollyhock says goodbye to Austin

Austin RIP 2000-20018Baby Austin in 2000Austin RIP 2000-20018Austin RIP 2000-20018Austin and Travis Farrow

Today we learned of the loss of Hollyhock Lake Of Silver, “Austin“, born 1/8/2000 and went to the rainbow bridge on 2/13/2018.  Here are some photos of Austin and a note from his mom, Debra Farrow.  RIP Austin.

Sweet Austin passed away on January 13, 2018.  He died peacefully in his sleep. He was 18 years and 5 days old.

Austin was a happy dog and lived “The life of Riley” with absolutely no health issues and he never missed a meal!   I can’t help but believe Austin somehow channeled the Westminster judges to award Flynn the win for 2018.  JR and Flynn are the bookends to his sweet Bichon life.

Austin was a loyal companion to the end.  I will always be grateful to Diana McFarlane and Linda Rowe for their expertise and friendship.

Hollyhock Skywalker – New Champion

Congratulations to Scott and Sherry Harris and their boy SKY, the newest Hollyhock Bichon to attain his Champion title.  Hollyhock Skywalker “Sky” was awarded his first major the first day he went in the show ring at 10 months old. He came home 3 months later finishing his Champion title with all his points from the puppy classes. Thank you Ryan Wolfe and Lisa Bettis for taking this young boy on his initial journey into AKC competition. As a bonus, Sky brought home a few Grand Champion points and will be pursuing his GCH and International titles in 2018. His daddy Scott is looking forward to working with him in Agility and mommy Sherry is very happy to have her little “deviled egg” home.

Emma and Riser’s puppies arrive

Friday morning Emma decided something was up and she didn’t feel like breakfast. She did some “nesting” in various spots at Momma Linda’s house and finally settled into the official nesting box for a nap. Within minutes her contractions started and she delivered her two boys in about an hour and 15 minutes. Mommy and babies made a quick trip to the vet for their initial wellness check and everyone was home for lunch and nap time within a few hours. You can see pictures and follow Emma’s litter’s development at the following link:

Dee Dee and Titus’ puppies have arrived

Monday morning Dee Dee was ready to deliver her babies, and she made it look easy, delivering 3 girls and 2 boys in less than 3 hours of labor. She and her puppies went to the vet for an initial wellness check which they passed with flying colors. You can see pictures and follow this litter’s development at the following link:

Holly and Romeo’s puppies have arrived

Sunday morning Holly decided she might as well bring these pups into the world. After all, Linda had called Deb to say she was in labor and Deb seemed to be getting so nervous the past few days. So, within two hours, she popped out 3 girls and 2 boys like it was just another day. No big deal. She paced a bit and had some water between contractions, but once the first baby came out, she was all business. Cleaning and nuzzling each baby before pushing out the next one. She is quite a special girl and a wonderful mommy. Click here to follow the progress of this litter.
