About Us

Bichon Frise Breeder of MeritHaving been a Bichon Frise breeder since the late 1970’s, Linda Rowe returned to the show ring after a hiatus of ten years.  The first Hollyhock Bichons came from some of the earliest and most influential Bichon Frise kennels such as Chaminade, Chamour and Reenroy.  In 2010, Deb Gibb joined Linda at Hollyhock and they began a new chapter in breeding for Hollyhock Bichons.

Focusing on beautiful heads, wonderful movement and loving temperaments, Hollyhock Bichons strives to meet the Bichon Frise Illustrated Standard and we are extremely selective in our breeding program.  We research and select dams and sires based on their health history, temperament, conformation, and overall quality.  We strive to produce a “perfect” representation of the breed. Read more about our breeding program here.

Both Deb and Linda hold the Breeder Of Merit, Advanced Bronze Level distinction from the American Kennel Club.  The AKC recognizes Breeders of Merit for their dedication to breeding purebred dogs with the appearance, temperament, and abilities that are true to their breed standard, and for their commitment to health screening and 100 percent puppy registration. They are the pinnacle of the AKC community.

AKC Bred With H.E.A.R.T ProgramWe are proud to participate in the AKC Bred With H.E.A.R.T program which recognizes breeders that have made a commitment to breeding better dogs through education and health testing.  We publish the OFA test results of our breeding dogs at www.offa.org (Orthopedic Foundation For Animals).

OFA Health Tested ParentsOur Bichon Frise puppies are raised in our homes and are not placed until they are 10-14 weeks old. We rear our puppies using Early Neurological Stimulation, natural handling, environmental enrichment and a wealth of socialization opportunities before sending them off to their forever homes. We give priority placement to current and former Bichon Frise owners and to owners wanting to work with their Bichon Frise to achieve their conformation, agility, obedience, therapy or other titles.

We are active in the Bichon Frise Club of San Diego, the Bichon Frise Club of America and in Bichon rescue. What can we say: “We LOVE the Bichon Frise.” Click here to explore our bichon family photos.
