For Dogs With Bad Backs Or Weak Knees
When it comes to dogs with back and knee issues, bar none, the Grippers Non Slip Dog Socks are THE BEST booties I have used for dogs that need a better grip on hard floors. Order the XS size for medium to large bichons. I use them only on the back feet so the front paws were natural to them. Toenails will not poke through like they do on most socks. The Grippers can be worn outdoors but are NOT suitable for use in snow or on ice. You need to order Grippers directly from this web site. For indoors you might also just want a simple sock. The ones from Power Paws worked the best for our older dogs on our slippery stone and porcelain floors.
Another very cool product we use on our rescue bichon Chipper who has a weak back is the WiggleLess Dog Back Brace. You can find that at wiggleless.com
If you need a great recommendation for a doggie wheelchair, we LOVE the flexibility and design of the Walkin’ Wheels product.
Other First Aid and Medicinal Products
Pain is something that should be diagnosed by your vet. For chronic pain like arthritis or sore muscles and joints, we like the holistic product T-Relief. When it comes to Elizabethan collars, they come in all shapes and sizes these days. I tried all the new-fangled alternative styles and I still find these clear cone styles the simplest and easiest to adjust. The dogs seem to like them the best.
