Jack’s celebrity cameo at the 2020 Beverly Hills Dog Show

Each year it seems celebrity newsperson Maria Menounos hunts for a Bichon Frise to play with as she does interviews at the Beverly Hills Dog Show. Last year she spotted Romeo. This year it was Jack’s turn. She is a big dog fan, and has had bichons in the past. She spent about 20 minutes with Jack in between her interviews on the red carpet. Needless to say, I’m guessing Jack was her favorite!

Here’s a video clip of Jack with celebrities Maria Menounos and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila as they cuddle with him during one of their news clips created for the show. The 2020 Beverly Hills Dog show will be televised on NBC on May 17, 2020.

Jack, Jellybean and Holly win at the BFCSD Specialty shows

IntCH GCH CH Hollyhock SHE Returns "Holly" CH Hollyhock Go Figure "Jack" Hollyhock Jack and Holly, 2020 Best in Sweepstakes CH Hollyhock Go Figure "Jack" CH Hollyhock Go Figure "Jack" Hollyhock Madame Secretary "Jellybean"Congratulations to IntCH GCH CH Hollyhock SHE Returns “Holly” and her grandkids, CH Hollyhock Go Figure “Jack” and CH Hollyhock Madam Secretary “Jellybean” for their recent wins at the Bichon Frise Club Of San Diego’s annual Specialty Shows in Del Mar, California.

Holly was awarded Best Veteran in Sweepstakes.  Jack took home nice wins the first day, landing Best in Sweepstakes, then an Award of Merit and Best Of Breed Owner Handler.  The second day he got the Select Dog Major (and was second to the Bichon, George, who won BOB and was BOB at Westminster this year) and Best Bred By Exhibitor.  Not to be outdone, Carrie came all the way from Massachusetts with her girl Jellybean.  It was JB’s second weekend at a dog show and there were 14 class bitches to beat.  She brought home the Winner’s Bitch Major on Sunday and also took home BOB Owner Handler that day.  

Wow…what a nice weekend for this Hollyhock family!  What fun!

Dee Dee and Romeo’s Puppies Have Arrived

Dee Dee and Romeo welcomed 4 boys and 1 girl to the Hollyhock Bichon family during the night. Dee Dee delivered her babies in about 3 hours as is pretty typical for her. Mommy and babies are all doing well.

Lil and Jack’s Puppies Have Arrived

Lil and Jack welcomed 2 boys to the Hollyhock Bichon family early today. She delivered her babies in about two and a half hours with no stress or complications. Her labor was a bit “vocal”, not unlike her mother, Holly.

Jack moved into the #1 Owner Handled Bichon Frise spot for 2020 after his 4 Best Of Breed Owner Handler awards at the Palm Springs and Long Beach Kennel Club shows.  Hollyhock Go Figure, CGC “Jack” brought home 3 Grand Champion majors and defeated the Grand Champions along the way, and even earned two more Owner Handler group placements.  Keep up the good work little man and stay at the top of that 2020 Owner Handler leader board!

Team Romeo goes to Orlando

Team Romeo headed to the AKC Nationals in Orlando Florida for a weekend of shows and visits with some of our extended Hollyhock family.   Pam and Dave Williams made the journey to Orlando from their home just outside of Atlanta Georgia and were instrumental in making sure we had all our equipment for the show.  They also documented our journey and took lots of the photos and videos.  We could not have done it without them!  Carrie and Dawn Abreu traveled all the way from Massachusetts with Peppermint and Jellybean and Peppermint and her owner/handler Carrie brought home the second place rosette for the Open Bitch class.  Andrea and Jamie Gardner came from Arkansas to see their youngster, CJ, make his debut in the show ring.  CJ and his handler, Jana Klein, were in town for the entire week and CJ placed better at each show he entered.  This little guy seems to like the show ring and should be a contender as he matures.  Romeo, groomed immaculately by Haemi Choi, brought home the Best Of Breed prize for the #1 Owner Handled Bichon Frise on Friday but fell short of getting a ribbon at the big show on Saturday.  With 41 bichons entered, it was still a great day watching some of the best bichons in the country.  We had a wonderful weekend with our extended families and their bichons and we hope to make this trip to Orlando an annual tradition!

Jackie Jack is on a roll.  Hollyhock Go Figure, CGC “Jack” brought home the rosettes and the points in his second outing as a new champion at the Shoreline Dog Fancier shows in Costa Mesa, CA.  He placed as Best Opposite in the breed round and Best Of Breed Owner Handler, and then went on to receive a Group 3 Owner Handler placement…and he did this both days.  Keep your eye on the prize little man and you just might become the #1 Owner Handler Bichon Frise for 2020…and follow in your daddy Romeo’s footsteps.

Congratulations to Hollyhock Go Figure, CGC “Jack” for killing it at the Yuma Arizona shows.  On Friday he finished his Champion title and on Saturday he entered the ring as a new champion and took Best Of Breed, a GCH Major, Best of Breed Owner Handler, and then a Group 1 Owner Handler placement.  As if that wasn’t enough, on Sunday he took Best Opposite, Best Of Breed Owner Handler and a Group 4 Owner Handler placement.  This boy is on fire and off to a good start as he aims to become the #1 Owner Handler Bichon Frise for 2020…and follow in his daddy Romeo’s footsteps.

Lil gets her first Grand Champion wins

IntCH CH Hollyhock Racy Lady "Diamond Lil"IntCH CH Hollyhock Racy Lady "Diamond Lil", CH Hollyhock Go Figure, CGC "Jack"Congratulations to Hollyhock Racy Lady “Diamond Lil” for an impressive weekend of wins all 3 days at the Yuma Arizona shows Thanksgiving weekend.  It was Lil’s first time in the ring as a champion and she scored two Select Bitch awards and one Best Opposite award, beating another champion and getting points each day toward her Grand Champion title.  Lil has been on hiatus from the show ring but decided to come along to the Arizona shows to keep Jack company.  It was a great weekend for these Hollyhock kids!

Congratulations to Hollyhock Go Figure, CGC “Jack” for completing his AKC Champion title at the Yuma Arizona shows.  Jack finished the same week he turned a year old and on this special day he was Winner’s Dog, Best Opposite, Best Of Breed Owner Handler and got a Group 3 Owner Handler placement.  Go Jackie Jack!
